Vice President, IT Operations

OVERVIEW

As the Vice President, IT Operations you'll oversee the technology infrastructure of Sun Communities, implementing solutions in direct support of the organization's mission and initiatives. You'll provide vision, leadership, and counsel to the entire organization on issues related to Sun's technology environment. You'll ensure a high-degree of user satisfaction with services and systems. As the VP, Technology operations you'll ensure continuous delivery and operation of information systems and corporate data centers, provide for their continual protection and defense, oversee telecommunications and data strategies, contract for the organization, and manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.

JOB DUTIES

  1. Oversee IT support services, network operations, security, data and telecommunication teams to provide direction and attain support objectives.
  2. Maintain high end-user service and satisfaction levels; implement effective, repeatable processes across all teams.
  3. Implement and maintain enterprise networks, information systems, communications and data architectures to a high standard.
  4. Implement effective, adaptive enterprise security measures and programs, monitoring and alerting to ensure corporate information and systems are secure from attacks or breaches.
  5. Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures ensuring protection of enterprise IT assets and integrity, security and privacy of corporate information.
  6. Identify, research, recommend, and oversee implementation of major information systems which align with strategic and operational objectives.
  7. Lead by outward focus; interface with managers, end-users, and other IT managers to proactively define direction for future initiatives.
  8. Investigate alleged or suspected violations of company IT policies as directed.
  9. Negotiate IT service level agreements with user and vendor organizations; monitor IT systems performance to assure service levels are being met.
  10. Monitor IT availability and performance across the enterprise; design strategies to enable continual improvement.
  11. Participate in the development and maintenance of the annual operating and capital expenditure budgets for IT systems and operations; manage expenses to budget.
  12. Build and manage effective asset management processes inclusive of R&D, inventory management and ordering, deployment, tracking and disposal services.
  13. Perform objectives in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements; ensure IT team members perform in accordance with SOX requirements; design and implement effective ITGC controls for all aspects of IT Operations.
  14. Coordinate team member selection and development, ensure team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, OR equivalent education and experience
  • 10 years functional expertise in enterprise IT solutions and administration
  • 10 years experience in WAN/LAN design, implementation, and support in a mid-sized or larger organization
  • 5 years supervisory experience
  • Advanced knowledge and skills pertaining to hardware and software infrastructure
  • Advanced skills with MS Applications (Excel, Word, Visio, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills
  • Ability to convey complex concepts and information in layman's terms
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
