Position Summary

The Vice President of Hospitality is responsible for leading the execution of exceptional business standards with regard to guest experience, event and activity programming, food & beverage and retail services. This individual is the hospitality driver and source of inspiration for the Sun Outdoors hospitality team. This individual must be a passionate, hands-on service and brand champion who lives to delight, please and exceed expectations.


  1. Works with Director of Hospitality to help identify and shape strategic initiatives to improve customer service to team members & guests.
  2. Ensures understanding of guest needs is incorporated into strategic thinking and planning across all levels of hospitality services.
  3. Helps lead development of new concepts, services & experiences across portfolio.
  4. Empowers, challenges & supports hospitality directors to lead their teams and implement new strategies.
  5. Demonstrates a detailed understanding of our outdoor hospitality strategy & ability to partner with stakeholders.
  6. Interprets & analyzes a range of business information, partnering with operations and data analytics team, to identify strategic opportunities for growth across all hospitality services.
  7. Develops, delivers & reports on, with RV Marketing Director, an annual communications plan with goals & budgets.
  8. Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
  9. Adheres to Suns Timekeeping Policy by reviewing, verifying accuracy, approving and submitting direct report(s) time recorded.
  10. Partners with Team Relations on team member counseling and recommendation of termination when appropriate.
  11. Conducts team member performance reviews and recommends compensation adjustments.
  12. Monitors the local marketplace & broader outdoor hospitality industry to identify & support opportunities for new experiences & business.
  13. Ensures objective and pro-active talent & succession planning activity across all service levels.
  14. Maintains a positive, winning spirit & is a model for the We Over Me cultural statement.
  15. Develops influencing strategies which take account of the new brand culture & dynamics.
  16. Empowers the team to monitor progress against strategy & take action where needed.
  17. Manages load on the business by prioritizing change & cutting out unnecessary activity.
  18. Leads activity aimed at sharing innovation in line with brands statement to be the leader in outdoor hospitality.
  19. Utilizes data & analytics to evaluate potential 3rd party operators and/or partnership opportunities/risks.
  20. Further develops performance frameworks for each specific hospitality division.
  21. Identifies short, medium & long term trends to shape hospitality strategy across RV portfolio.
  22. Builds strategic networks with key internal partners to add value to business.
  23. Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's Degree in (Required)
  • Master's Degree in (Preferred)
  • 10+ years experience in customer service
  • 10+ years experience in a management role
  • 10+ years experience in hospitality
  • 10+ years experience in training
  • Ability to travel by car or plane with overnight stays as required: Up to 50%
  • Proven experience managing high-volume hospitality operations
  • Ability to motivate and inspire a hospitality team to provide extraordinary customer service
  • Ability to accurately and strategically develop, manage and regularly report on a large budget with continual focus on profit and loss
  • Proven ability to hire, train, coach and mentor critical staff
