OVERVIEW

Treasury Accountants specialize in a combination of tasks from either Cash Management, Corporate Finance, or Payment Processing areas within the Treasury Department. Cash Management includes all aspects of daily cash management, cash forecasting and recording financial transactions in the general ledger. Corporate Finance includes capital markets strategy, debt/equity issuance, fixed/float/FX hedging and liquidity management. Payment Processing includes managing payment forms such as ACH, AR check scanning, credit cards and resolving payment issues with service providers. Treasury Accountants build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors, third party banks and other financial service providers.

JOB DUTIES

  • Manages daily cash positioning and maintains adequate liquidity for Sun and its subsidiaries.
  • Collects and manages cash flows from operating, investing, and financing activities. Executes necessary cash transfers, reconciles daily cash flows, and posts daily activity to GL accounts.
  • Prepares, validates, and maintains global short-term cash forecast for the company. Analyzes variances in forecast to enhance cash forecasting methodology.
  • Supports a variety of Treasury topics including capital markets strategy, debt/equity issuance, fixed/float/FX hedging strategy, liquidity management and Treasury reporting.
  • Supports a variety of payment processing systems including credit card processing, AR check scanning, and ACH rent payment collection.
  • Maintains relationships with partner banks, merchant card processors, and payment gateway vendors. Serves as an intermediary, identifies solutions to optimize efficiencies and resolve banking/payment processing issues and errors.
  • Administers user access and entitlements for bank accounts, payment systems and Treasury related Sun accounts with third party vendors.
  • Coordinates opening and closing of bank accounts, maintains inventory of bank, payment gateway, and merchant processing accounts.
  • Identifies and recommends methods to integrate payment processes into Suns business operations to provide a wider variety of services. Takes a leadership role in implementing these services by coordinating with operations, Accounting, IT & Innovation.
  • Reconciles miscellaneous balance sheet accounts, including property level sales and security deposit escrow accounts.
  • Maintains documented written procedures to ensure adequate support during scheduled absences.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Required)
  • 2 years business experience in Finance, Accounting, or Banking
  • 2 years Treasury and/or General Ledger experience
  • Motivated individual with strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships without forfeiting profitability
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel
