Job Summary
Job Duties
- Provides technical accounting support and guidance for complex business transactions such as quarterly long-lived impairment analyses, asset acquisitions/business combinations and lease accounting. (Essential)
- Works on special projects and evaluates the appropriate accounting treatment for various strategic initiatives and unique business situations. (Essential)
- Researches, interprets, and documents all new accounting standards to determine the accounting and financial reporting impact to the company. (Essential)
- Interacts with accounting consultants and external auditors on technical accounting matters to ensure agreement on appropriate accounting conclusions. (Essential)
- Builds and maintains relationships with key external parties including internal and external auditors. (Essential)
- Supports the preparation and review of financial statement disclosures.
- Identifies process improvements in the accounting process and plays a key role in current improvement initiatives.
- Prepares month-end journal entries and supporting documents to ensure accuracy.
- Assists senior management with addressing issues and/or questions related to the monthly financial operating results and provides analysis of actual versus budget variances.
- Performs ad hoc analysis to support the monthly management reporting process; develops and enforces internal controls over financial reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field (Required)
- Master's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field (Preferred)
- 2 years in experience researching, concluding upon, and documenting accounting issues (Required)
- 3 years in of public accounting or industry experience (Required)
- Strong knowledge of United States generally accepted accounting principles
- Experience with International Financial Reporting Standards
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Required Certifications/Licensures:(Certified Public Accountant (CPA))
