OVERVIEW

Team Leader, Onboarding are responsible for leading the onboarding and pre-employment screening efforts of a team of Talent Underwriters and Onboarding Coordinators. They assist with assessing, evaluating, and leading the onboarding/pre-employment functions of the company. The Team Leader, Onboarding will train and develop new team members on background screening, drug screening, onboarding and e-verify. Additionally, they are responsible for supporting the Talent Acquisition Team by preparing open job postings for approval, managing the HR team's incoming support ticket queue, and providing backup support to the onboarding team.

 

JOB DUTIES

  • Effectively leads a team of Onboarding Coordinators and Talent Underwriters, managing team performance through effective direction and leadership including team meetings, biweekly 1:1s and regular training.
  • Assists with managing and streamlining all aspects of the onboarding process including background checking, drug screening and electronic onboarding paperwork.
  • Ensures data accuracy and integrity of candidate applications in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Prepares and submits high volumes of open job postings in Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for approval.
  • Handles escalated concerns from hiring managers in regards to the onboarding and talent underwriting process.
  • Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to Suns Timekeeping Policy by reviewing, verifying accuracy, approving and submitting direct report(s) time recorded.
  • Partners with Team Relations on team member counseling and recommendation of termination when appropriate.
  • Conducts team member performance reviews and recommends compensation adjustments.
  • Routes and moderates internal HR-related support tickets.
  • Participates in projects related to key initiatives and improvements.
  • Provides backup to the Manager, Talent Acquisition with onboarding-related items as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulations, policies, and best practices related to onboarding and pre-employment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources (Preferred)
  • 2 years Human Resources experience
  • 1 year leadership experience
  • Experience working with Sun HR systems and processes (SAP Success Factors, Sun Source Recruiting, Zoho, Zendesk)
  • Working knowledge of E-verify and best practices for background checking/drug screening and onboarding (First Advantage)
  • Ability to respond to business needs after normal business hours.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Excel
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive data and maintain confidentiality
  • Highly driven and goal-oriented with proven ability to meet established goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
