Senior Data Analyst
OVERVIEW
The primary focus of the Senior Data Analyst is to maintain engagement with business data stewards. This role maintains and promotes data policies to ensure data quality and literacy across our data systems and organization. Interacting with various teams and levels within the organization on a wide range of topics and solutions, the Sr. Data Analyst works to promote and increase adoption of our BI tools.
JOB DUTIES
- Serve as an expert in Suns BI tool (Domo) to help our business data stewards with creation of their analysis and reports.
- Facilitate meetings with Data Stewards to help them with data literacy, datasets, and BI processes.
- Collaborates with data architecture team, BI team, business teams, project teams, and others to ensure analytic needs are considered as part of all major projects.
- Collaborates with business users to facilitate creation of reports, dashboards, and data analysis using business intelligence tools and other data analysis tools.
- Creates and maintains business documentation for the data and data structure including, but not limited to, requirement documents, data dictionary, and business glossary.
- Ensures data dictionary and business glossary are maintained on a timely manner.
- Works with the BI Team to create prototype reports and analysis in Excel or other BI tools to support future functionality.
- Participates in the development of the BI data analytics program in collaboration with business users and BI developers.
- Involved in the implementation of user-focused tools to enable self-service functionality for ongoing data needs.
- Guides business data stewards on Suns data strategy.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field. (Required)
- 5 years Part of a formal BI Team utilizing BI Tools such as Domo, Power BI, Tableau.
- Quick learner with passion for helping business data stewards and in promoting data literacy across the organization
- Prior experience in manufactured housing or real estate industry.
- Advanced level of experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work well with others inside as well as outside the organization
- Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or Javascript
- Experience with SQL and Domo
