Safety Technical Writer

OVERVIEW

The Safety Technical Writer will research, write and edit written Safety and Operational documents to ensure compliance with all Safety and Health regulations and best practices at the Company. They will generate innovative ideas for content while working both independently and collaboratively with other departments through the Company to research products, regulations, consensus standard, and other concepts to be documented and easily understood by a broad audience.

 

JOB DUTIES

  • Conducts extensive research to create, fact-check, review, and format a variety of documents as they relate to Safety, Health and Operations; edits and updates documents as needed.
  • Develops and edits Safety and Operational programs, procedures, manuals, processes, and documents as they are needed to ensure compliance in areas of Safety, Health and Operations.
  • Works with the Companys Learning and Development team to ensure consistent and effective standards are communicated to all levels of the company.
  • Writes effectively to ensure a complete understanding of material across all levels of the company.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of Federal and State Health and Safety regulations and is highly knowledgeable on technical and regulatory aspects of workplace Safety and Operational risk.
  • Provides safety-related and technical expertise to contribute to company-wide safety and health excellence though clearly documented policies and procedures that are in compliance with safety regulations and operational expectations.
  • Builds collaborative and productive relationships, networking with key stakeholder to assist in influencing business decisions; plans, executes, and evaluates complex assignments that have a broad impact on Operations and the Company.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or Communications (Required)
  • 5 years relevant safety related experience
  • Hospitality, entertainment, or theme park experience (Preferred)
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail as it pertains to writing and editing written material
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel as required, 15%
