Regional Safety Manager - West Coast
OVERVIEW
The Regional Safety Manager will direct compliance as it pertains to Safety and Operational Risk, regulations, and internal policies. The Regional Safety Manager will provide safety and health leadership, direction, and support for all Sun properties to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate safety standards through development of safe work practice and analytical review of injury data.
This position will office out of the West Coast - California, Colorado, Arizona or Utah.
JOB DUTIES
- Provides leadership and technical expertise to obtain company-wide safety and health excellence and ensures compliance with safety, operational policies and applicable regulations.
- Builds collaborative and productive working relationships; networks with key internal and external stakeholders; influences key business decisions as well as functional and operational safety strategies; plans, executes, and evaluates complex assignments.
- Analyzes safety metrics to determine trends and rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest.
- Maintains a strong understanding of Federal and State Health and Safety regulations and acts as Suns subject matter expert on technical and regulatory aspects of workplace safety and operational risk.
- Communicates Sun's Safety philosophy and drives execution through strategic planning and timely follow-up.
- Plan and coordinate travel to various properties to conduct risk assessments, compliance audits and ensure Sun's safety philosophies are being upheld.
- Acts as Suns subject matter expert on technical and regulatory aspects of workplace safety and operational risk.
- Provides guidance, direction, and oversight to all of Suns properties regarding safety and operational risk.
- Upholds a health and safety culture focused on sustaining safe operations, proactively working to improve the conditions, and engaging team members.
- Develops and implements programs and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Conducts risk assessment by identifying and assessing potential magnitude of risk and creating contingency plans.
- Other job duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or related field (Required)
- 7 years relevant safety experience required
- Experience working in the hospitality industry; including amusement parks, entertainment/events, and hotels (Preferred)
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to travel by car or plane with overnight stays as required: 30%
