Quality Engineer
OVERVIEW
The Quality Engineer position is responsible for devising test plans based on the analysis of software design specifications and user requirements. They conduct a wide range of quality control testing to ensure software meets end-user requirements and are expected to make recommendations to improve QA team processes, tools, and procedures.
JOB DUTIES
- Collaborates with the project team to generate and define new ideas; participates in requirements definition process to ensure proper test coverage and traceability
- Interacts on a regular basis with Project Management and development teams to ensure an understanding of business requirements and technical design, and to assist with defect resolution
- Creates test strategies, plans, and test cases and provides a level of effort, estimates, and timing
- Tests mobile products across multiple platforms including web applications, iOS, and Android
- Creates automated test scripts across multiple automation frameworks
- Performs functional, regression, integration, back-end, compliance, API, and web-based services testing as needed for application or service
- Collaborates with the team to understand and validate configuration settings to ensure optimal product performance, scalability, and availability for production environments
- Creates reusable test templates, and test data conduct peer reviews, and analyzes and documents defects
- Designs develops, and maintains quality assurance documentation through all phases of the project(s)
- Facilitates User Acceptance Testing Process; documents all test results and user feedback
- Collaborates with the project team to generate and define new ideas, and improvements to QA processes and procedures and proposes creative solutions to quality assurance challenges
- Communicates with project leads, project team members, and IT management on activities performed by the quality assurance team
- Creates problem reports and communicates deficiencies to project lead and developers
- Evaluates implement and maintain quality assurance software tools
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- 3 years of quality engineering experience
- 3 years experience with web-based applications
- 3 years experience in test automation within Agile delivery streams
- 3 years experience working with Postman, SOAPUI, Apache JMeter, or similar API testing tools
- 3 years experience working with UI automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright
- 3 years experience with quality assurance, testing methodologies, and analyzing application failures/defects
- Preferred experience working with Amazon AWS services like AWS Device Farm, Athena, S3, Glue, or Starburst
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft SQL with the ability to create complex queries without the need for graphical user interface
