IT Controls Analyst

OVERVIEW

The IT Controls Analyst supports corporate compliance activities, and is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of ITGC, security and regulatory controls required of Suns Information Technology assets and processes. Additionally, they are the lead facilitator/liaison for internal and external audit engagements. They will assist with monitoring access to systems, maintaining required documentation, and ensure follow up for any necessary remediation, reporting irregularities or discrepancies to IT Management.

JOB DUTIES

  • Performs control audits of information systems, platforms, and departmental processes in accordance with established corporate and external governance standards
  • Follows up to ensure remediation of exceptions found during control testing
  • Develops testing procedures for new controls as needed
  • Maintains and ensures timely and accurate completion of control tasks and audit requests in Sun ITs Governance, Risk and Compliance system
  • Coordinates the fulfillment of audit support requests through collaboration with internal departments and team members
  • Reviews control artifacts and supporting evidence for accuracy and completeness
  • Provides status reports on the effectiveness of controls to IT Management
  • Performs regular auditing of security reports and job logs; resolves and reports irregularities or discrepancies to IT management
  • Schedules control tasks to meet required audit standards and internal policies and procedures
  • Maintains documentation (procedures, process flows and reporting) required of control activities
  • Identifies, recommends and implements improvements to control design and testing based on changes to control frameworks, audit results, team feedback or other directive
  • Prepares and processes invoices, working directly with internal staff and external vendors
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Security, Finance, or another related field. (Required)
  • 2 years experience documenting policies and/or procedures in support of audits
  • 3 years experience testing controls for ITGC, SOX, security, or regulatory audits
  • 2 years experience designing control tests for ITGC, SOX, security, or regulatory audits
  • 2 years experience using a Governance, Risk and Compliance system in audits
  • Certification in one or more governance frameworks (COBIT, ISO or NIST)
  • Certification in one or more auditing frameworks (CISA or equivalent)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of application security, windows security and related concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
  • Ability to follow complex verbal or written instructions
  • Advanced computer proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Visio
