External Reporting Analyst

Position Summary

 

External Reporting Analysts specialize in areas that provide support to the VP, Technical Accounting & Reporting in the preparation of internal and external management reports. They assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, external SEC filings (10-Ks and 10-Qs), and supplemental data information. External Reporting Analysts also research technical accounting issues by reviewing documentation issued by the FASB, SEC, PCAOB, AICPA, or other authoritative body and analyze, review and reconcile financial information to the general ledger in a timely and accurate manner.

 

Duties

  1. Handles accounting journal entries and financial analytics for various specialized areas
  2. Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts, prepares supporting work papers for the external audit, and follows-up on outstanding issues
  3. Prepares various monthly internal reports
  4. Performs various tasks related to the consolidation of subsidiary financial statements
  5. Assists in the preparation and timely submission of required SEC filings (8-Ks, 10-Ks and proxy) and supplemental reporting/press releases
  6. Assists in researching accounting regulations and SEC disclosure requirements; provides technical accounting consultation to internal team members regarding US GAAP and practical implementation thereof
  7. Assists in the administration of stock compensation programs
  8. Other duties and special projects as assigned

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Required)
  • 2 years experience with general ledger, financial statements, and analytical responsibilities
  • 6 months prior experience preparing 10-Ks and 10-Qs
  • 6 months real estate experience
  • 6 months experience with Workiva
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Strong attention to detail, prioritization and multitasking skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret and apply accounting principles
