Energy & Resource Analyst

Position Summary

The Energy & Resource Analyst oversees the daily operations related to utility management, energy conservation and company-wide sustainability efforts. The Energy & Resource Analyst will oversee the processes related to utility expenses, utility re-billing, conservation programs, sustainability projects and ESG analysis.


  1. Oversees the utility re-bill process across the portfolio; inclusive of third party vendors, rate calculations and revenue analysis.
  2. Researches and evaluates options, presents recommendations, and implements programs for reducing energy usage, related conservation programs and their related costs portfolio wide.
  3. Manages efforts related to energy reductions, including tracking performance metrics, providing recommendations for improvement and making programmatic adjustments to more effectively achieve stated goals.
  4. Oversees all sustainability and conservation projects from initiation to completion including scope, schedule and budgets.
  5. Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
  6. Adheres to Suns Timekeeping Policy by reviewing, verifying accuracy, approving and submitting direct report(s) time recorded.
  7. Partners with Team Relations on team member counseling and recommendation of termination when appropriate.
  8. Conducts team member performance reviews and recommends compensation adjustments.
  9. Identifies energy savings and resource conservation opportunities by conducting audits, field investigations and compiling analysis.
  10. Serves as a liaison between Sun and all utility companies, including working to identify expanded opportunities for innovation, partnerships, rebates and programmatic development.
  11. Assists in establishing standards and reviews project designs and specifications to increase emphasis and adoption of energy efficiency and sustainability in new and renovated facilities.
  12. Pilots programs and services to capture business savings and revenue generating activities that improve value while being dedicated to environmental sustainability.
  13. Compiles quarterly progress report for Executive management; reporting on corporate energy metrics and other resource and utility based KPIs.
  14. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  15. Assists the investment team with compiling annual ESG report.


  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field (Preferred)
  • 6 months Energy conservation and/or project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer proficiency with the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite, email, internet
  • Strong organizational skills
