Business Intelligence Developer

Main Office (MOS)



Position Summary


The BI Developer will be responsible for building and implementing modern data warehouse solutions to support the business intelligence processes and procedures for the company. Under the direction of the Manager of Data Architecture, they will be responsible for close collaboration with teams inside and outside of the organization to implement, develop, and refine modern data strategies and solutions that strategically align to the BI needs across the portfolio. The BI Developer will actively participate in the validation and implementation of a new enterprise data warehouse infrastructure and will be responsible for ensuring accurate, accessible, current, and controlled data management solutions are in place, maintained, improved and fully documented. They will also be responsible to assist in data migration activities for system conversions as needed.

  1. Collaborates with business leaders and the BI team to develop and implement data governance and data management strategies.
  2. Ensures technical and design documentation is thorough, accessible and continuously maintained.
  3. Works in close collaboration with business experts, developers, analysts and project teams to understand data requirements, integration needs, constraints, and performance requirements.
  4. Executes the design of a new, upgraded enterprise data warehouse under the direction of the Manager of Data Architecture.
  5. Obtains a thorough understanding of Suns data and current-state data warehouse structures to assist in analysis and identify dependencies and opportunities for improvement.
  6. Builds and maintains data management platforms and structures in compliance with industry best practices, SOX and other compliance requirements, SOD, audit logging, and data risk management.
  7. Identifies and implements continuing improvements to maintain the highest level of integrity and accessibility for ongoing data needs.
  8. Develops and maintains relationships with architects, developers, project teams, vendors, and business experts to ensure data management solutions are considered in and are supporting any relevant development projects.
  9. Implements systems for continual monitoring and assists with debugging, and troubleshooting the BI structures as needed and on a continuing basis.
  10. Assists in designing and developing processes for system integrations, data extraction, and data transfers with relevant systems existing and future.
  11. Other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Management, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field (Required)
  • 3 years of related work experience in data architecture, data management, and development
  • Prior experience in manufactured housing or real estate industry (Preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of database development and data management technologies and processes (Required)
  • Proven understanding of application development technologies and processes (Required)
  • Advanced knowledge of data integration processes and technologies (Required)
  • Advanced database development skills and experience (Required)
  • Experience in database technologies like SQL Server, Oracle, SAP, etc. or experience using analytic SQL, working with traditional relational databases and/or distributed systems (Required)
  • Hands-on design and development experience with multiple data technologies, including data warehouse, big data, data integration, and ETL (Required)
  • Familiarity with data exploration/visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, Chartio, etc. (Required)
  • Knowledge and experience with agile development practices
  • Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Visio, and PowerPoint
