OVERVIEW

The AP Analyst is responsible for researching and communicating with vendors and team members regarding account status. An in-depth knowledge of all Accounts Payable processes and systems is needed to initiate new, develop old, and streamline processes.

JOB DUTIES

  • Discovers inefficiencies and offers suggestions on ways to streamline processes.
  • Takes an active lead in coordinating accounts payable matters with other departments and identifying procedures and processes to accommodate growth and efficiency.
  • Responds to emails and Concierge tickets from team members and vendors with straightforward and complex vendor inquiries as needed, including researching and discovering payment discrepancies and determining true amount due.
  • Processes checks that are returned undeliverable and log accordingly.
  • Completes various projects such as step-by-step procedure manual updates; creates and summarizes reports to capture accounts payable activity.
  • Collaborates with vendors and operations team members to establish best practices for vendor invoice submission.
  • Provides coverage for AP Processor and Supervisor responsibilities, including creating new vendors in NetSuite, manual entry of vendor bills in NetSuite, pulling Amazon credits from website, process invoices from Kofax, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates Degree in Business or Accounting (Required)
  • 2 years experience in a computerized accounts payable department
  • Ability to maintain excellent working relationships both inside and outside the company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting theories/practices and the ability to maximize efficiencies
  • Intermediate computer proficiency with the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite, email, and internet
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain a helpful, cooperative and positive attitude
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks by specific deadlines
  • Accurate and high-speed data entry skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to Multi-task and work in a high pressure environment
  • Knowledge of Unclaimed Property/Escheatment Process (Preferred)
