AWS Developer

Position Summary

The AWS Developer is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and evolving the cloud infrastructure of web applications and middleware API layer. They understand core AWS services and apply best practices regarding security and scalability.

***This position has the option to work fully remote.



  1. Design and build high-performance, reusable, and reliable cloud-based applications aligned with industry best practices
  2. Identify bugs and align with requirements during debugging
  3. Oversee complex application features and technical designs; analyze, configure, implement and deploy the components required for intricate solutions
  4. Follow established best practices and data governance procedures in development and integration of applications
  5. Participate in team technical architecture review sessions
  6. Collaborate with various internal teams to ensure AWS cloud environments support internal needs related to functionality and performance
  7. Identify and articulate design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for technical architecture
  8. Develop and maintain technical documentation on custom enhancements, integrations, and environments
  9. Define service capacity planning strategies
  10. Write infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar
  11. Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
  12. Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes as needed



  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, computer science, information systems, or related field (Preferred)
  • 4 years hands-on software development experience
  • 2 years experience in web development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS), SQL server and general software development
  • 2 years experience in at least one modern program language such as Java, C#, or Python
  • 2 years in-depth, enterprise-level understanding of developing applications on the AWS platform
  • 2 years experience integrating applications with Soap or REST APIs
  • AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer Certification
  • Strong knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Prior experience with the serverless approaches using AWS Lambda, preferred
  • Experience with building or maintaining cloud-native applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems
  • Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Proficiency in at least one language from stack: C#/.Net, JavaScript/ES6/TypeScript, Swift, Kotlin, Objective C, Java, SQL, Apex
  • Experience creating reusable, effective, and scalable micro service-based applications
  • Previous exposure to large-scale systems design
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack
  • Strong knowledge of front-end technologies and frameworks like ReactJS, Vue.js, C#, .NETCore and RESTful web services
  • Proven ability to improvise or infer solutions with imperfect information or data
  • Excellent research and analytical skills and ability to translate users stated business need into meaningful business solutions
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of Web Service APIs for integration purposes
  • Proven ability to multitask and balance competing priorities
