We are looking for a Pro Shop Manager to oversee all aspects of the pro shop at one of our RV resorts. If you have experience working in a sales environment and enjoy working with the public, we want to talk to you!

OVERVIEW

As a Pro Shop Manager, you'll run the day-to-day sales, marketing and customer service operations of the pro shop and golf course, as well as for membership drivers and retention activities. You'll represent the golf course and community to our members, outside golfers, groups, associations, clubs and area communities. Additionally, you'll work closely with the Community Manager on all golfing-related issues.

JOB DUTIES

  1. Coordinate team member selection, training, development and scheduling of direct reports and ensure all team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
  2. Market memberships within the community as well as to golfers of other area communities, clubs, organizations, associations and daily fee players.
  3. Prepare comparison studies with other area courses at least 3 times/year to gather information on upkeep of courses, maintenance standards, course playability, and any other factors that impact the golf on the course.
  4. Establish budget targets in conjunction with Community Manager for membership and daily play (green/cart fees).
  5. Stay current on pricing of other courses (daily play rates, specials, membership rates, etc.).
  6. Initiate and coordinate special events for golfers (i.e. glow ball tournament, merchandise show, “welcome back” or “See you next year” tournaments).
  7. Solicit, coordinate, and schedule tee times for tournaments, memberships, member and outside play and special functions; assist club members in scheduling and running tournaments as needed.
  8. Enforce the rules of the golf club and arbitrate golf rules per the PGA rule book.
  9. Assist golfers in familiarizing themselves with our facility.
  10. Assist club members in posting scores.
  11. Report/transmit scores to PGA as appropriate.
  12. Track number of rounds played daily, weekly and monthly by membership.
  13. Handle and resolve golfers’ complaints, inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  14. Price merchandise competitively and display merchandise attractively.
  15. Sell merchandise; establish budget targets and order merchandise as needed, ensuring to stay within budgetary guidelines.
  16. Coordinate sales events (i.e. end-of-season sales, holiday related sales, etc.).
  17. Market and prepare special orders for members; ensure catalogues are available and prominently displayed.
  18. Supervise the daily condition, appearance and maintenance of the cart bar, pro shop and rental carts; ensure rental carts are cleaned, charged and stored properly.
  19. Report all golf course and pro shop maintenance issues and concerns.
  20. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Low handicap golfer
  • Previous merchandising and/or sales experience, preferred
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Basic computer proficiency including the ability to use email and internet
