Senior Systems Administrator

Main Office (MOS)



Position Summary


Senior Systems Administrators manage the day-to-day aspects of the corporate computing infrastructure including: servers, PCs, operating systems, and applications. They are responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. The Senior Systems Administrator configures and maintains system infrastructure to ensure compliance with the companys network security policies. They identify and participate in projects to improve and advance the companys computing infrastructure.



  1. Designs, architects, and maintains computing infrastructure environment including Windows Servers, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and SAN.
  2. Manages environment including applications, patch and OS deployment management, configuration manager, virtual servers and virtual application streaming.
  3. Participates in network/security assessments and audits.
  4. Serves as the escalation point for systems and application related issues.
  5. Manages VMware virtual environment.
  6. Provides advanced system administration functions for user administration, automation, patch management, backup and restore, capacity/log monitoring, clustering, replication and migration, system monitoring and alerting, global event log monitoring.
  7. Conducts disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.
  8. Establishes network users, user environments, directories, and security for networks.
  9. Mentors Jr. Systems Administrators & Systems Administrators by providing direction, monitoring and providing feedback.
  10. Develops documentation and processes for the team as needed.
  11. Provides on-call and after-hours support as required.
  12. Other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor's Degreein Management Information Systems
  • 8 years Experience administering and implementing Microsoft server environment
  • 3 years Hands-on experience administering and managing virtual server environment
  • 6 months Previous experience implementing and managing VMware, Hyper-V, and Microsoft ILM/FIM or MIM, preferred
  • 6 months Previous experience with Batch, Shell, VBScript, or PERL scripting, preferred
  • Preferred Certifications/Licensures: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers (MCSEs), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) - Cloud Platform and Infrastructure , Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) - Productivity.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
