Senior Quality Analyst

We are looking for a Sr. Quality Analyst to conduct a wide range of quality control testing to ensure software meets or exceeds standards and end-user requirements.

 

Position Summary

The Sr. Quality Analyst is responsible for devising test plans based on analysis of software design specification and user requirements. They conduct a wide range of quality control testing to ensure software meets end-user requirements and are expected to make recommendations to improve QA team processes, tools and procedures.

 

Duties

  1. Collaborate with the project team to generate and define new ideas; participates in requirements definition process to ensure proper test coverage and traceability.
  2. Interact on a regular basis with Business Analysts and development teams to ensure an understanding of business requirements, technical design, and to assist with defect resolution.
  3. Create test strategies, plans and test cases and provide level of efforts, estimates and timing.
  4. Create reusable test templates, test data, conducts peer reviews and analyzes and documents defects.
  5. Design, develop and maintain quality assurance documentation through all phases of the project(s).
  6. Facilitate User Acceptance Testing Process; documents all test results and user feedback.
  7. Collaborate with the project team to generate and define new ideas, improvements to QA processes and procedures and proposes creative solutions to quality assurance challenges.
  8. Determine, aligns, prioritizes and manages testing resources assigned to technology projects; ensures proper utilization.
  9. Ensure traceability of test cases back to project requirements.
  10. Review application requirements and understands design specifications.
  11. Identify and create data for corresponding test scenarios to assure requirements have been met.
  12. Track test execution progress and communicates to project team(s).
  13. Communicate with project leads, project team members, and IT management on activities performed by the quality assurance team.
  14. Create problem reports and communicates deficiencies to project lead and developers.
  15. Evaluate implements and maintains quality assurance software tools.
  16. Other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and 7 years quality assurance or business analysis experience, OR equivalent education and experience
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Knowledge of database and programming concepts
  • Excellent multitasking and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of technology development methodologies, testing processes, technical relationships, data security, and compliance standards (i.e. Sarbanes-Oxley)
  • Strong attention to detail, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft SQL with the ability to create complex queries without the need for a GUI
  • Advanced computer proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Visio
