Job Summary
Truck Drivers are responsible for providing efficient and reliable garbage collection services throughout the resort property. This role involves operating a single-axle garbage truck in a safe and professional manner to collect, transport, and properly dispose of waste. Drivers must ensure all collections are completed on schedule while adhering to safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
Job Duties
- Collects waste materials throughout the resort by emptying trash receptacles into truck twice daily; replaces receptacles neatly at the curb or designated area (Essential)
- Hauls garbage to disposal site daily (Essential)
- Maintains and updates documentation and log sheets on a daily basis (Essential)
- Responds to customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and professional manner; escalates issues as necessary (Essential)
- Operates truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies (Essential)
- Maintains cleanliness of the truck, both inside and outside
- Interacts with resort guests in a courteous manner
- Adheres to Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) policies; ensures relevant checks are conducted and documented
- Monitors and inspects truck for maintenance issues and repairs on a daily basis; performs repairs and communicates additional maintenance needs to Resort Maintenance Manager
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- 6 months in previous experience operating a garbage truck (Preferred)
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to endure fluctuations in temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work
- Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
