OVERVIEW

House Construction Managers ensure timely set up of new houses by coordinating all subcontractors, suppliers, building officials and utility companies, and by utilizing only quality materials and methods to complete the job. HCMs encourage manufacturers to upgrade their workmanship and the quality of materials used.

JOB DUTIES

  • Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to Suns Timekeeping Policy by reviewing, verifying accuracy, approving and submitting direct report(s) time recorded.
  • Partners with Team Relations on team member counseling and recommendation of termination when appropriate.
  • Conducts team member performance reviews and recommends compensation adjustments.
  • Creates and reviews plot plans.
  • Obtains required permits, such as wetlands, planning/zoning, building, inspections, and certificate of occupancy.
  • Order and track all inventory and materials.
  • Schedule and oversee all aspects of the subcontractor relationship/process.
  • Ensure proper safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Perform various setup and carpentry tasks.
  • Assist Community Manager with homeowner walkthroughs.
  • Complete and file as-built drawings and documentation in office.
  • Schedule, oversee, and perform work on company facilities as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 3 years experience supervising others
  • 2 years experience working as a building trade
  • Ability to endure fluctuations in temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 90 lbs.
